Doctor in Law and Social Sciences at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, he did his postgraduate studies at the Universities of Köln, Bonn and Oxford. Professor Bulygin has taught at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), and has been a visiting professor at many universities in Europe and Latin America. He was awarded the Konex and the Humboldt Prizes and is Doctor Honoris Causa of the Universidad de Bahia Blanca (Argentina) and the Universidad de Alicante (Spain). He has been a full-time professor and dean of the UBA Law School, Judge of the Camara Nacional de Apelaciones en lo Civil y Comercial Federal (Argentina) and president of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). His publications include, inter alia, the books: Normative Systems (along with Carlos Alchourrón); Análisis lógico y derecho (along with Carlos Alchourrón); Norme, validità, sistemi normativi;, and Il positivismo giuridico and over one hundred articles on the topics of deontic logic and legal theory. In the Marcial Pons' "Philosophy and Law" collection Professor Bulygin has published Lagunas en el derecho: una controversia sobre el derecho y la función judicial; Normas y sistemas normativos and Una discusión sobre la teoría del Derecho.The following volume: Un diálogo con la teoría del derecho de Eugenio Bulygin, has been devoted to the analysis of his work.
